Cookies sound scary. Ours aren't. We use them to keep you signed in and to understand how people use Yapr so we can make it better for you. No ads, no following you around the internet, no selling your data. Just a small team trying to build the best voice transcription tool on the planet — and cookies help us do that.
They're tiny files your browser stores. Think of them as Post-it notes a website leaves for itself. In our case, the note says "this person is signed in" and "they prefer dark mode." That's about as exciting as it gets.
Cookies got a bad name because big ad companies use them to stalk you across the entire internet. That's not us. We're too busy building transcription features to care about your shoe-shopping habits.
Here's the honest rundown:
First visit? We'll ask if you're cool with the experience improvement stuff. Yes means you help us build a better Yapr (thank you). No means the app works identically — we just fly a little more blind.
Change your mind later? Clear your browser storage for yapr.lol, or email privacy@yapr.lol and tell us what you want. We're responsive like that.
The session cookie stays as long as you want to stay signed in. That's just how the internet works — don't blame us, blame HTTP.
